What DropMeta removes from Word, Excel and PowerPoint files

DropMeta removes metadata from DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files in your browser by emptying the core and app document properties (author, last modified by, company, dates, application), deleting custom properties and comment parts, accepting tracked changes in Word, and stripping metadata from embedded JPEG, PNG and WebP images, with no upload.

Limits: legacy .doc, .xls and .ppt files are not supported (Save As DOCX, XLSX or PPTX first). Tracked changes are accepted in the main Word document body only, and embedded TIFF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, EMF, WMF and SVG images are skipped with a warning. Field-by-field reference: DOCX metadata fields.

Old .doc / .xls / .ppt?

Not supported. Save As DOCX/XLSX/PPTX first.
